Target Audience

The target audience for this knowledge-based enduring material includes physicians, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and other clinicians; health information technology professionals; computer scientists and systems developers; policy-makers; public health professionals; biomedical engineers and bioinformaticians; consultants and vendor representatives; medical librarians; academic researchers and scientists; and other professionals involved in the collection and dissemination of health information.

Learning Objectives

The overall learning objectives for the entire activity are that after participating in this “other” (live and streaming hybrid) activity the learner should be better able to:

  • Analyze the latest research and best practices in biomedical and health informatics and its translation to improved individual and population outcomes
  • Identify opportunities and challenges posed for the health information sciences by current national/international policies
  • Exchange ideas with participants on novel methods for capturing and assessing clinical data; exchange research results to improve patient and population care; and consider opportunities for collaboration in biomedical and health informatics
