Last month, I had the pleasure of being a guest on the Nurse Keith Show where I talked with Keith Carlson about nursing, nursing informatics, the nurse staffing crisis, and my discovery of a 30-year-old flawed nursing budget process that increases the risk of nurse understaffing.
Nurse Keith is a holistic career coach for nurses, professional podcaster, published author, award-winning blogger, inspiring keynote speaker, and successful nurse entrepreneur.
My episode is now live!
In episode 372 of The Nurse Keith Show nursing and healthcare career podcast, Keith interviews board-certified informatics nurse, consultant, and blogger Robert Wingo, BSN, RN-BC regarding how Robert has developed a data-driven, care-centric approach to nurse scheduling and has uncovered a long-standing, flawed nursing budget process that increases a facility’s risk of understaffing.
For the past 23 years, Robert’s focus has been on nurse staffing and scheduling, nursing budgets, and nursing productivity. He developed a passion for using data to better understand and improve nursing care delivery. He has recently formed Perceptive Staffing Innovations, LLC, to provide consultation and education services to empower healthcare facilities to create safe and effective schedules by leveraging staffing, scheduling, productivity, and financial data to understand their staffing capacity better. Robert has also launched The Nursing Informatics Blog at informaticsnurse.com, where he covers topics of interest to nursing informatics professionals. He currently lives in Houston, TX with his wife, Lisa, daughter, Sabrina, 3 cats, 1 corn snake, and a tarantula.
