Help shape the future of nursing informatics by completing the HIMSS 2022 Nursing Informatics Workforce Survey.
The HIMSS Nursing Informatics Workforce Survey captures salary, professional status, and practice trends while identifying changes that have occurred in the workforce.
From the HIMSS website:
Nurses and nurse informaticists of all levels, titles, years of experience, and locations are encouraged to share their insights on the evolving role nurse informaticists play in healthcare.
HIMSS conducts its Nursing Informatics Workforce Survey every three years, building upon research that began in 2004. The survey takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete and is open to nurses around the world.
The survey aims to identify changing dynamics in clinical experience, job responsibilities, applications, barriers to success, compensation, and benefits.
The resulting report will demonstrate how nursing informatics has evolved into an integral part of healthcare delivery and a differentiating factor in the selection, implementation, and evaluation of health IT that supports safe, high-quality, patient-centric care.
Frequently used in research related to the shifts in the nursing informatics workforce, the widely cited report shows how healthcare organizations may build their governance structure and develop tracks of advancement for nurses and nurse informaticists.
The results of the HIMSS 2020 Nursing Informatics Workforce Survey found that nurse informaticists are the driving force behind the development, implementation, and optimization of electronic medical/health records, nursing clinical documentation, point-of-care clinical decision support, and computerized practitioner order entry.
Complete the Nursing Informatics Workforce Survey to help ascertain nursing informaticists’ role in digital healthcare.
